Left Bank books is a fairly small privatly owned book store. Inside you can find rows and rows of pristine old tomes and books that carry information your not likely to find in a library. It has fairly dim lighting, being that the shop owner is not the biggest fan of the light. Gentle celtic music can dimly be heard through out the store, and the slight smell of a strange incense that is sweet and warm can be smelt everywhere in the store. All the books that are for sale have been collected and thoroughly read by Colin O'Bannon, the owner. If your looking for a rare or uncommon book, this is the place to go.

Fiorrin fluttered about the upper shelves, making sure all of the new arrivals were where they should be and in the correct order. "There now, all nice and cozy for the night and ready for tomarrow." She patted a leather edition on the spine and wafted toward the counter.

Standing over the ledger, she checked the sales totals and found that she didn't have to make any corrections. She took the ledger in both hands to the back of the stoor and put it on Colin O'Bannon's desk. "Here y'are sir, ready for review." She folded her hands before her with a satisfaction that comes with doing a job one genuinely loves.

Colin looked up from his desk, which was littered with papers and books. The books were all opened to different pages, with sticky notes and place holders all over. This was common practice for Colin whenever he was researching or when he was studying a new book. So pretty much his desk was always like that. Colin brushed aside some papers to make room for the ledger.

He picked up the ledger with a smile and quickly glanced over it. He basically just skimmed over it every time, because he knew he could trust Fiorrin to do a good job. "Magnificent job as always Fiorrin," He said to her happily before setting the ledger back down on the desk.
"With all the good work you've done, I feel like I owe you more then a paycheck," Colin said as he reached under the desk. He smiled and lifted up a pristine leather bound book. A tree is embossed into the cover, with little birds fluttering around it. "I know you love books just as much as I do, so I want you to have this," He said as he held the book out to Fiorrin.

Her eyes glittered like tiny gems and she let out a cry of awe. She accepted the book with trembling hands. "Thank you so much; it's lovely!" A small blush filled her cheeks. She turned her head away briefly, then quickly regained his gaze.

"Um, Do you have plans for tonight Colin?" She asked meakly. "I was going to order take-out and they always give me far more than I need." This was entirely true, as she really didn't eat much to begin with, but mostly she just liked hanging out with him, as a boss and a friend.

Colin smiled and leaned forward on his desk, looking at her. He had come to know Fiorrin as a good friend, and not just as a boss. "No I've got nothing planned. Did you want to hang out later?" He asked her, closing the books on his desk. He had gotten very far in his studying and he wasnt sure he had that much else to cross reference, so he figured he would take a break for the moment. It was of course a tome of magic, which was usually the type of thing he dealt with. As the most rare books usually had to do with magic, which is why they are so rare in the first place.

Brown paws padded along the concrete floor. Ears flickered to every sounds and Mercis' head swiveled around several times to get a good look at anyone, or thing, planing on steping on him.

A gental Celtic song could be heard from a nearby book store. The perfect place to browse for something interesting. He sniffed the air out of habit. He watched as cars passed him, waiting for the oppitune moment to race across without getting squashed.

Once he got the timing right he dashed to the bookstore. Shaking his fluffy body he checked the place out. It was fairly small on the outside, but when he looked through the window pane it seemed like a good size. Odd books decorated the bookshelf and the place smelt of sweet incense that tickled his nose.

He pushed himself off and walked to the front door but he couldn't open it. Damn those pull out doors, he thought and lightly scratched at the door. He mewed with boredom as he waited for one of the two people inside to open it for him.

He hadn't wanted to turn into his Human form, mainly because when he transform he would have no shirt on and it was slightly cold out, but it was such a hassle he just didn't feel like it.

It was hard for others to tell if he had a human form, because he hid his aura very well. Of course, he couldn't hide it from all, only from those who were more powerful than he was. Merci was fairly stronger. Atleast, stronger than your average human.

So he sat there, in his fluffy, nicely built, cat form. His large tail wrapped around his body and light jade green eyes that had a tint of blue in them glaring into the shop.

"I was hoping so." Fiorrin replied, clutching the book to her. "If you'd like to, we could watch a movie or something. I'm afraid I'm not a very interesting person." She laughed Suddenly, something caught her ear. Scratching? ... and perhaps a meow?

She fluttered a little way out of Colins office and glanced through the window. "There's a cat at the door." She seemed rather confused. "He looks like he wants in... But why would a cat come here? They don't usually go anyplace they haven't been before unless there's food or a cat to-be with..." She was thinking aloud.

As one could imagine, she had a bit of trouble with average cats mistaking her as a plaything.

Colin shrugged and glanced at the cat for a second. "Weird. But its probably just a cat. I see a bunch of them around here," He said absentmindedly and looked at his watch. He grabbed his backpack, opened it up, and slipped in the book he had been studying. "Hey Fiorrin I gota run. Il be back later. We can talk about when to hang out then," He said to her with a smile before putting the book bag in the back room and grabbing some keys. He walked back over to Fiorrin and handed her the keys. He walked over to the door "Il be back later Fiorrin," He said before opening the door and walking outside, his hands in his pockets.

(Exit to Colin house)

Elliot walks in to the interesting store and starts browsing. Any book that seemed interesting would be good enough for him to buy. After a while of browsing he decides to go to the front desk and ask if the owner or worker could maybe recomend something. "Excuse me," he said "do you have any book that can help pass the time?"

"Well, that depends on what your interested in." Fiorrin replied, lying the book down on the desk and glancing again at the strange cat at the door. She wondered if there were anything left from her lunch that it might eat, but figured not considering it was primarily vegitables.

She realized she hadn't yet flipped the sign back to CLOSED, which would explain why this boy was here. "What sort of stories do you like? Or are you more of an informative-intrest reader?" She figured if he could pin-point what sort of things he was interested in, than perhaps she could quickly find him a book.

Mercis' ear twitched in annoyance, Scratching the door again he gave a yowl. The man walked out and another person walked in. He lost his chance to slip in.

Ugh! Infernal creatures. He had enough of this and yelled through the closed door, "Will you let me in already?"

His whiskers twitched. Hopefully the tiny girl would open the door for him. So he jumped up on the door and glared. "I would appreciate it if you would let me in."

Fiorrin let out a small sound of recolection. "Oh! I didn't recognize you had a human voice." She fluttered quickly to the door and opened it, allowing the cat-like creature inside. "How can I help you?"

He snorted, "Of course!" Then he remembered his surpressed aura. "Anyways," he said when he padded his way in, "I hadn't notice this shop here, and I wanted to have a look around."

He sauntered his way over to one of the bookcases. Sniffing is and checking out the books. "Do you have anything on fish?"

Glancing at the small girl he scoped the room out. There were rows and rows of pristine old tomes and books. He stretched out and gave a yawn. "Preferably an index of them."

A little confused at why a cat would want to buy a book, why a cat could talk, and that a cat could read, Elliot decided to head back since it was already getting late. "Thank you, but its getting late, maybe I could return tomorrow." He the left the shop quickly before he got in any sort of situation with the shopkeeper.

"Well that was a waste." Fiorrin put her hands on her hips as the boy left the shop and returned her attention to the feline customer. "The only two that I can think of are... Encyclopedia Oceana, which would have a huge amount of marine life, and Icthology; A study of the Deep, which is more... sciencey, if that makes any sense. Technical latin terms and all that sort of thing. Do you think either of those might suit you?"

As she considered the cat, she wasn't sure how he was going to pay for the book or even get it home, but she figured he had some means by which to do so, otherwise he wouldn't have come in.

Merci considered these, "Let me see the Icthology." He walked up the the tiny creature and asked, "What is your name?" His big green eyes seemed to glare at her. Not on purpous though, it was just his natural look.

He lift his paw and licked it, cleaning his face off in the prosess. "Also, can I pay is cash?"
